- ABOUT: Egrets are opportunistic feeders, meaning they lay in wait for provision more often than they aggressively hunt. They feed on insects amongst other things and are known to sometimes camp near airports in order to feed off insects that may be blown their way when planes take off.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Lagos life, these birds to me serve as a reminder that positioning yourself rightly is half the battle. Work smarter not harder they say, I think egrets would strongly agree with that sentiment.
I came in contact with them on varying occasions and at varying locations during my time back home. Their white feathers contrasted with their yellow-orange beaks now serve as a cue to breathe and be more methodical than forceful in my approach to life.
