ELITE MARK

“What if NERF made a writing instrument?” ELITE MARK is a branding project that shows the utilization of NERF’s brand language in an atypical form. If NERF were to ever make a writing instrument, I imagine it to be just like this: colorful, customizable and most importantly, fun!

Understanding the signature elements of a NERF toy

Destroy

I took apart an ELITE line blaster to get a better understanding of its components and how it was designed

*I noticed a lot of tiny screws were used to hold the blaster together, something I decided not to use for my product as an added challenge*

Ideation

Taking my new found understanding of NERF as a brand and a product, I ideated through different versions of a writing instrument. Ultimately I landed on a marker, as I found it best combined the playful identity of NERF as well as the utility of a writing instrument

Tactical
Rail

I utilized the preexisiting tactical rail technology and familiar user interaction,   re applying it in a way that makes the new product (marker) stackable, and allows for multi coloring.
